What have I done to deserve any acknowledgment much less appreciation for being a dad?
Father's Day is a beautiful festival that acknowledges and appreciates the important role played by a father in raising the child and consequently building a stronger society.This is the first sentence on a website I found about the Story of Father's Day.
Fortunately, for me, my kids are too young to "thank me" for being their dad. Fortunately, because, they don't yet judge me or scrutinize my (non-existent) parenting skills.
Looking back the past five years I realized I've not been spending enough time with them. I've been busy setting blogs up chasing the elusive dollar online. Much to my chagrin, I'm making less than $50 monthly!
Is that a fair exchange for my time. My time that could well have been spent with my daughters. No. I think not! If I may say so myself.
Much have been said about spending "quality time" with family, especially with kids. To me that's a farce! Kids don't quantify time spent with them. You are either with them or not. It's that simple. I started this blog to think about my parenting skills, my relationship with my daughters and my family life.
One thing is for sure, I need to spend much more time with them.
Well, any way, Happy Father's Day! (Maybe you deserve it, even if I don't!)
